College Brother of the Year

Register to Compete

The brother will be judged on the following criteria:

  1. Contributions to Alpha at all levels (participation and involvement in chapter, state/district, regional and national activities - delegate to conventions, offices held, committee service as a member or chairman, etc.)

  2. Contributions to the university/college community (Pan-Hell/IFC involvement, personal/social services, campus activities, etc.)

  3. Contributions to the community outside the university (civic associations, city, county, or state boards/commissions, social services to schools, nurseries, nursing homes, church, political involvement)

  4. Academic Standing

  5. Awards and Achievements (Listing of Awards and Achievements with documentation)

  6. Personal progress among and service to Alpha brothers, chapters, and years of active service in Alpha.

  7. National Display and Interview (Presentation neat, logical, relevant, and attractive)

Alumni Brother of the Year

The brother will be judged on the following criteria:

  1. Contributions to Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. at all levels (participation and involvement in chapter, state/district, regional and national activities- delegate to conventions, offices held, committee service as a member or chairman, etc.)

  2. Contributions to community (list and show documentation for church, businesses, civic associations, political, personal, social services)

  3. Awards and achievements (listing of awards and achievements with documentation)

  4. Years of active participation in Alpha at all levels (list with documentation)

  5. Personal progress among and service to Alpha brothers, chapters, and years of active service in Alpha.)

  6. National Display and Interview (Presentation neat, logical, relevant, and attractive)

  • SMALL CHAPTER (Chapters with 1-2 Delegates)

  • LARGE CHAPTER (Chapters with 3 or more Delegates)

 

The chapter will be judged on the following criteria:

  1. Academic standings of the entire chapter brotherhood (proper documentation required)

  2. Awards and achievements (listing of awards and achievements with documentation)

  3. Contribution to growth of personal service to chapter members (risk management, scholastic/leadership activities, training programs, etc.)

  4. Contributions to both college and community (voter registration drives, lobbying groups, campaign work, civic organizations, job assistance, office holders, and campus leadership)

  5. Degree of participation in Alpha National Programs (Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Project Alpha, Boy Scouts), active participation on all levels. Years of active and continuous participation with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

  6. National display and interview (presentation neat, logical, relevant, and attractive)

  4. Years of active participation in Alpha at all levels (list with documentation)

  5. Degree of participation in Alpha National Programs (Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Project Alpha, Boy Scouts), active participation on all levels. Years of active and continuous participation with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

REGISTER TO COMPETE

(Awarded for joint initiatives between an Alumni Chapter and College Chapter(s))

  1. Participation in Alpha National Programs and special projects (from convention to convention.)

  2. Collaboration in the planning and implementation of Alpha functions (Founder's Day events, Black and Gold Balls, MLK Breakfast and church services, etc. with documentation)

  3. Recognition of progress and service to and from chapters (plaques, certificates, sponsorship of events, scholarships, etc.)

  4. Chapter registration at last year's conferences and conventions for chapters involved (provide documentation)

  5. National display and interviews with members of chapters involved.
